Setup & Access
Enabling the Scheduling module, who can see it, and the account settings that define your working week and default shift.
Setup & Access
Enabling the module
Scheduling is a per-account feature, currently in beta. It has to be switched on for your account before the module appears — contact Assignar support if you'd like it enabled. Enabling it also provisions the default timesheet form that My Shifts files against, so the worker half of the loop works from the start.
Who can see it
Anyone with the orders.view permission can open the board — scheduling is a view of your orders, so it follows order visibility. Users without that permission (or on an account where the feature isn't enabled) see a permission-denied page rather than an empty board.
My Shifts needs the same feature enabled, but a different permission: timesheets.view, or a field role. Field workers deliberately lack the broad timesheets permission — My Shifts is their home surface, and it shows them only their own shifts and their own timesheets. See My Shifts.
Working days and the default shift
Once Scheduling is enabled, anyone with settings.manage (owners and admins) gets a Scheduling section in team account settings:
- Working days — which days of the week your company works. This drives the order builder's default day selection, the board's non-working-day shading, and which days an order's pattern resolves demand on. The default is Monday–Friday, and at least one day must be selected.
- Default shift — the start and end time used as the order builder's preset and as the fallback window for role-less and untimed allocations. The default is 07:00–15:00. Overnight windows (an end time earlier than the start) are allowed; an identical start and end is not.
These settings are read by everyone on the account, not just those who can edit them, so a dispatcher and an owner always see the same working week.
Public-holiday calendars are a separate concern and aren't part of these settings.
Tags
Workers and assets can both carry tags, managed in the Tags module, each with its own colour. The scheduler uses them to filter the Resources drawer, and shows them as chips on each resource row. You can also edit a resource's tags without leaving the board — see The Resources Drawer.
Prerequisites for the full loop
For allocations to turn into paid time, the account also needs Activities configured (labour and break activities with cost codes) so workers can file timesheets against their shifts. See My Shifts.
