Usage & Billing
How runs are counted, your monthly allowance, buying more, and what happens if the balance runs out
Usage & Billing
What Counts as a Run
Every time a published workflow runs, that is one run, whether it succeeds or fails. It does not matter how many steps the workflow has: one run is one run.
Test runs inside the builder are free and do not count, so you can test as much as you like before publishing.
Note: events your trigger filters out do not start a run at all, so filtering a trigger to one client, project, or status change is the simplest way to keep usage down.
Your Monthly Allowance
Each organisation includes a monthly allowance of 1,000 runs by default. The allowance resets at the start of each calendar month. Unused included runs do not carry over.
You can see your balance any time on the Billing page:
- Included used: runs used from this month's allowance
- Purchased remaining: extra runs you have bought, which are only used once the monthly allowance is gone
- Total available: what is left overall
- A day-by-day chart of this month's runs, and your recent purchases
Common Tasks
How to Buy More Runs
- Open the Billing page.
- Click Buy runs.
- Choose a pre-set pack or enter a custom amount. Larger amounts get a better rate per run.
- Pay by card through the secure checkout.
Purchased runs are added to your balance within a few seconds of payment, never expire, and roll over month to month.
How to Keep an Eye on Usage
The day-by-day chart on the Billing page shows which days are busy. A sudden jump usually means a new workflow is firing more often than expected, which the troubleshooting tips can help you narrow down.
Running Low
- When your balance drops below about a fifth of your monthly allowance, everyone who can use Connect — Owners, Admins and Managers — gets a heads-up notification, and a warning appears above the workflow builder.
- When the balance reaches zero, your active workflows are paused so you never get a surprise bill. Your workflows, connections, and history are kept exactly as they were. Nothing is deleted.
- Paused workflows resume automatically: immediately after a purchase, or shortly after the monthly reset. Workflows you switched off yourself stay off.
Troubleshooting
My workflows have stopped and I did not turn them off
Check the Billing page. If the balance is zero, your workflows were paused to protect you from unexpected charges. Buy runs and they start again by themselves.
I bought runs but the balance looks the same
Give it a few seconds and refresh the Billing page. If the purchase still is not showing, contact us with the payment receipt and we will sort it out.
We keep running out
Two things help, in this order. First, filter your triggers so workflows only run on events you care about. Second, if your organisation genuinely needs a bigger allowance every month, contact us. Monthly allowances can be adjusted per organisation, and large one-off purchases can be invoiced directly.
