Build with Milo

Describe the workflow you want in plain words and have Milo, the Assignar assistant, build, test and publish it on the Connect page

Milo, the Assignar assistant you open with Ask Milo, can build workflows for you while you are on the Connect page. Describe what you want in your own words and Milo finds the right trigger and actions, builds the workflow, and can test and publish it.

Milo's Connect tools are available to the people who can build workflows, on the Connect page only. Elsewhere in Assignar Pay, Milo helps with the rest of the product as usual.

Have a workflow built for you

  1. Select Connect in the sidebar, and switch to the workspace you want to build in. Milo builds in the workspace you have open.
  2. Select Ask Milo, beside Search at the top of the left navigation (or beside the search bar if your navigation runs along the top). On a phone, open the menu first. Its context shows Connect and the workspace name.
  3. Describe the workflow, naming the form, crew, channel or condition. For example:
    • "When a Site Safety Checklist is submitted, email a summary to the site manager."
    • "When an invoice is marked paid, add a row to my finance spreadsheet."
    • "If a docket is rejected, text the crew supervisor."
  4. Milo builds and checks the workflow, explains what it will do, and asks you to confirm before it publishes it or switches it on or off.
  5. Refresh the Connect page to see the new workflow in the builder.

If the result is not quite what you meant, say what is wrong in the same conversation.

What else Milo can do here

  • Explain what an existing workflow does, including one a colleague built. Name it, for example "walk me through Safety checklist to safety manager".
  • Change a workflow: "in Safety checklist to safety manager, also text the site supervisor".
  • Switch a workflow on or off.
  • Show recent runs and why one failed.
  • List the accounts already connected in the workspace.

Milo works with the same apps as the builder, and with the same permissions: what it builds runs as the workspace's acting user, like any other workflow. See Share workflows.

When Milo does not offer to build

Milo builds workflows only on the Connect page, and only when the builder itself is available. If the builder shows Connect is unavailable, Milo has no Connect tools either and answers as it does elsewhere. Select Try again on the Connect page, then ask again.
