Building Workflows with Milo

What This Feature Does

You do not have to build automations by hand. Milo, the Assignar assistant in the bottom-right of every page, can build them for you on the Connect page. Describe what you want in your own words and Milo assembles the workflow in your workspace.

This is the fastest way to get started when you know what you want but not which trigger or action to reach for.

Before You Begin

• You need Connect access, which means being an Owner, Admin or Manager in an organisation where Connect is switched on.
• There is nothing to set up. No connectors to add, no keys to paste. On the Connect page Milo already has what it needs to work in your workspace.

Day-to-Day Usage

How to Have a Workflow Built for You

1. Open Connect in Assignar.
2. Open Milo using the assistant icon in the bottom-right.
3. Describe the automation. For example:
   • "When a Site Safety Checklist is submitted, email a summary to the site manager."
   • "When an invoice is marked paid, add a row to my finance spreadsheet."
   • "Every Monday, message the team a list of last week's approved timesheets."
   • "If a docket is rejected, text the crew supervisor."
4. Milo works out the right building blocks, drafts the workflow, and can test and publish it, asking you to confirm as it goes.

What Milo Can Do Here

• Build a workflow from a description, including triggers, actions, branches, and schedules
• Explain what an existing automation does, or adjust it on request
• Test a workflow with real sample data before you turn it on
• Answer questions about your automations and their recent runs

Milo works with the whole catalog of Connect Apps, both the Assignar apps and the hundreds of outside systems.

Common Tasks

Asking for a change to something you built by hand

Milo can adjust workflows you built yourself. Name the workflow and say what should be different, for example "in Safety checklist notifications, also text the site supervisor".

Understanding a workflow someone else built

Ask Milo to walk you through it. This is the quickest way to pick up a colleague's automation before you change it.

Troubleshooting

My new workflow is not in the list

Refresh the Connect page. Milo creates the workflow in your workspace, and the builder picks it up on reload.

Milo is not offering to build anything

Workflow building appears when you are on the Connect page. Elsewhere, Milo helps with the rest of Assignar as usual.

The workflow is not quite what I meant

Tell Milo what is wrong in the same conversation. Being specific helps: name the form, the crew, the channel, or the exact condition.

Security

• Milo works inside your organisation's workspace only, never another organisation's.
• Workflow building is available to Owners, Admins and Managers with Connect switched on, the same people who can use Connect directly.
• Milo proposes and builds, and you stay in control. Review before publishing, and change or remove any automation at any time.

Tips for Construction Teams

• Be specific. Naming the form, the site, or the exact condition gets it right first time.
• Start small, then iterate. Build one automation, watch it run, then ask for the next.
• Ask for an explanation before publishing. A quick "walk me through what this will do" catches surprises early.
