Assignar Pay Product Release – September 14, 2026
TL;DR
- Payroll numbers you can take into the pay run — more reliable hour totals, overtime, and shift premiums, including weekend and holiday custom-rule hours that now land in the right weekly buckets.
- Invoices that carry the timesheet and plant evidence — print templates can include Evidence: Timesheets and Evidence: Equipment, so billed work arrives with the supporting detail clients ask for.
- Schedule from the bid at the right stage — creating a schedule now lives in the scheduler, not on the bids screen, so estimating and planning stay in their own workflows.
- Projects, quotes, and purchase orders that are easier to follow — project external IDs show on pay-rate calendar cards, quote assemblies nest like templates, and connected workflows can raise a purchase order.
- A smoother week on site and in the office — collapse bid sections, group repeated resources, recover exports more cleanly, configure merge templates with less guesswork, and see competency and SubHub status more clearly.
Context
This release reflects work from September 6 – September 13, 2026 — a week focused on more dependable payroll calculations, clearer invoice evidence, a simpler path from bids to schedules, and steadier project and commercial workflows so site and office teams process timesheets, issue invoices, and plan work with fewer surprises.
Themes from the week
- Payroll accuracy: More reliable pay-rate calculations across standard hours, weekends, overtime, and shift premiums — including weekly hour totals that stay closer to the award.
- Invoice evidence: Invoice printouts can include timesheet and equipment details, so customers see the supporting information behind billed work.
- Project workflows: Scheduling, bidding, orders, and project references are easier to manage, with schedule creation moved into the scheduler.
- Commercial clarity: Project external IDs on calendar views, organised quote line items, and purchase-order creation through connected workflows.
- Everyday usability: Collapse and expand bid sections, group repeated resources, recover exports more cleanly, and make merge templates easier to configure and understand.
- Compliance and SubHub: Clearer competency and verification information, plus continued expansion of SubHub organisation, invitation, and project workflows.
- Trust and reliability: Stronger organisation data-access checks, better handling of temporary service failures, safer connected-client controls, and closer monitoring of automated actions.
These weekly summaries are indexed for the Assignar Pay Support Agent so guidance stays aligned with what actually shipped.
What's new
More dependable payroll calculations
Pay-rate logic is tighter across standard hours, weekends, overtime, and shift premiums. Hour totals stay in the right buckets, so a weekend or holiday custom rule no longer inflates penalty overlays or leaves the week’s worked hours short — and a shift premium can protect ordinary time while still sharing the first overtime cap when the award requires both.
What it does:
- More reliable weekend, holiday, overtime, and shift-premium calculations — pay outcomes stay closer to the award on mixed and penalty days
- Custom-rule weekend and holiday hours land in the weekly partition — re-coded hours count as worked time instead of inflating weekend or holiday overlays
- Shift premiums can share the daily OT1 cap without consuming ordinary hours — turn Contributes to Overtime off and Shift Premium Counts Toward OT1 on when the award both guarantees the full ordinary day and caps the first overtime tier across the premium and the end-of-day overtime
- Fewer unexpected hour or rate discrepancies — weekly hour totals and overtime escalation match how the site actually worked
Where you'll find it: Pay Rates → a rule group → Shift Rules for Contributes to Overtime and Shift Premium Counts Toward OT1. After Apply Pay Rates, review the day in Pay Rates → Weekly Summary / the calendar breakdown. See Shift Rules and Payroll Processing Guide.
Who benefits: Payroll admins applying awards and EBAs, finance exporting the week, and anyone who has had to chase a day that “looked right” until the weekend or early-start premium was added.
Richer invoice support — timesheet and equipment evidence
Invoice printouts can now include the timesheet and plant records behind billed work. Project teams and customers get the context they need to review, approve, and file the claim without a follow-up pack.
What it does:
- Evidence: Timesheets — add a configurable timesheet table to the invoice print template (worker, dates, hours, amounts, and optional rate-type columns)
- Evidence: Equipment — add the matching plant evidence for billed equipment time (asset, operator, hours, and amounts)
- Columns you choose — turn columns on or off, group by worker, asset, or day, and keep the rest of the invoice layout
- Only what this invoice billed — evidence is drawn from the invoice’s own line items, so a partially billed timesheet or plant record shows on the invoices that actually billed it
Where you'll find it: Invoices → Print Templates → open or create a template → Sections palette → Evidence: Timesheets and Evidence: Equipment. Download or email the invoice PDF to confirm the appendix. See Invoicing.
Who benefits: Project managers and commercial leads assembling a claim, finance answering “what hours are on this invoice?”, and customers who need timesheet and plant evidence with the SOV or progress claim.
A simpler path from bids to schedules
Schedule creation now lives in the scheduler instead of sitting on the bids screen. Estimating and planning stay in their own workflows, so the person who approves the bid is not forced to build the roster in the same step.
What it does:
- Schedule from the bid in the scheduler — a bid can prefill Roles & shifts; nothing is written until you save the schedule
- A checkbox, not a promise — on the bid, choose whether to go to the scheduler now or later (off by default)
- Create schedule from bid on the board — planners can start from the scheduler without opening the bid
- Coverage you can see — bid lines show as linked requirements or editable proposals, with a rebuild-from-bid action while the plan is still unsaved
Where you'll find it: Quotes / bids when converting to an order (optional create schedule checkbox), and Scheduler → Create schedule from bid. The board opens the order on Roles & shifts. See Scheduling and Quotes.
Who benefits: Estimators who finish the bid without building the roster, ops leads and dispatchers who plan work at the right stage, and project managers handing a won job to the planner.
Clearer project and order management
Project external IDs now show on pay-rate calendar cards, quote assemblies nest like templates, and connected workflows can create a purchase order — so it is easier to identify the job and keep commercial work moving.
What it does:
- Project external IDs on calendar pay-item cards — validate project coding from Pay Rates → Weekly Summary → Calendar without opening each timesheet (falls back to the project name when there is no external ID)
- The same ID in the table and export — the Project External ID column and CSV/JSON export use the same value as the card
- Organised quote assembly line items — work assemblies nest like quote templates, with the same sell layer (billing, retainage, and totals) so a package is easier to read and scale into a bid
- Purchase order creation through connected workflows — Assignar Connect can raise a purchase order when a quote is accepted, a material request is approved, or a delivery is booked — without re-keying it into Pay
Where you'll find it:
- Project IDs: Pay Rates → Weekly Summary → Calendar. Hover a card for the project name alongside the external ID. See Pay Rates.
- Quote assemblies: Quotes → Work Assemblies. Insert an assembly on a quote or template and confirm nested lines and sell totals. See Work Assemblies.
- Purchase orders: Purchase Orders for the in-app create path, and Assignar Connect for the connected Create Purchase Order action. See Purchase Orders and Assignar Connect.
Who benefits: Payroll and cost controllers checking project codes on the week, estimators building nested assemblies, and procurement / finance who want a PO raised when the commercial event already happened.
A smoother day-to-day experience
Small frictions that slow a busy week — long bid pages, repeated resource lists, interrupted exports, and opaque merge templates — are easier to handle. Compliance and SubHub workflows also keep moving forward.
What it does:
- Collapse and expand bid sections and activities — navigate a long bid without scrolling past work you are not editing
- Group repeated resources into expandable sections — less clutter when the same role or plant appears more than once
- Improved export recovery — a processing issue is less likely to interrupt the download
- Merge templates that are easier to configure, export, and understand — clearer setup and output for Word merge prints
- Clearer competency and verification information — workforce compliance status is easier to see when someone asks “is that ticket current?”
- SubHub organisation, invitation, and project workflows continue to expand — inviting a subcontractor organisation, submitting details, and engaging them on a project stays on a clearer path
Where you'll find it:
- Bids: Quotes when reviewing or editing a bid with sections and activities. See Quotes.
- Repeated resources: The resource / requirements lists on the order and scheduler surfaces you already use. See Scheduling.
- Exports: The export / download dialog on the surfaces where you already download files.
- Merge templates: Forms → Templates → Uploaded merge template. See Uploaded Merge Templates and Merge Tag Authoring.
- Competencies: Compliance → Competencies, or a worker profile → Roles & Competencies. See Competencies.
- SubHub: Principal-contractor invitations and project engagement under Clients & Projects. See Subcontractors.
Who benefits: Estimators working a long bid, planners scanning resource lists, project admins exporting packs, office teams printing forms, and compliance leads checking tickets before a gate or pre-start.
Security, privacy, and reliability
This week included stronger checks around organisation data access, improved handling of temporary service failures, safer connected-client controls, and better monitoring of automated actions.
These changes are designed to protect customer information, reduce avoidable interruptions, and keep Assignar Pay dependable as organisations grow.
What it does:
- Stronger organisation data-access checks — account data stays more clearly separated
- Better handling of temporary service failures — a brief interruption is less likely to stop the work
- Safer connected-client controls — integrations that create or change records follow tighter access rules
- Closer monitoring of automated actions — connected workflows are easier to watch when something needs a retry
Where you'll find it: Across sign-in, workspace access, and Assignar Connect runs — no extra setup for these reliability updates. See Assignar Connect.
Who benefits: Account owners and admins protecting tenant data, teams running connected purchase-order or client workflows, and everyone relying on Assignar Pay during a busy pay or billing week.
Why it matters for construction teams
- Pay that matches the award on mixed and early-start days: Weekend and holiday custom-rule hours now sit in the weekly total instead of inflating a penalty overlay. A shift premium can keep the full ordinary day and still share the first overtime cap — useful when an EBA guarantees 7.6 ordinary hours and caps time-and-a-half across the early start and the afternoon.
- An invoice pack you can send without a second attachment: Timesheet and equipment evidence on the print template shortens the path from “what hours and plant are on this claim?” to an answer — useful when an SOV line, progress claim, or variation is challenged.
- Bids stay bids; schedules stay schedules: Moving schedule creation into the scheduler means the estimator can convert the bid without building the roster, and the planner can start from the board when the order is ready.
- Project codes you can see on the week: External IDs on calendar cards stop a pay review from opening every timesheet just to confirm the job code.
- Quotes and POs that keep commercial work moving: Nested assemblies read like the template they came from, and a connected workflow can raise the purchase order when the quote, material request, or delivery is already approved.
- Fewer stalled downloads and long bid pages: Collapse, grouped resources, and export recovery cut the admin between a won job and a clean client pack.
Getting started
- Payroll accuracy: Open Pay Rates → a rule group → Shift Rules. Confirm Contributes to Overtime and Shift Premium Counts Toward OT1 for an early-start or penalty-day rule. Process or re-process a timesheet that includes a weekend, public holiday, or early-start premium, then open Weekly Summary / the calendar breakdown. See Shift Rules.
- Invoice evidence: Open Invoices → Print Templates. Add Evidence: Timesheets and, if you bill plant, Evidence: Equipment. Choose columns and grouping, then download a PDF for an invoice that billed labour or equipment. See Invoicing.
- Schedule from bid: On a bid that is ready to become an order, use the create schedule checkbox if you want to go to the scheduler now, or open Scheduler → Create schedule from bid. Review Roles & shifts, then save. See Scheduling.
- Project external IDs: Open Pay Rates → Weekly Summary → Calendar. Confirm the project external ID on a pay-item card, and that the table column and export match. See Pay Rates.
- Quote assemblies: Open Quotes → Work Assemblies. Edit or insert an assembly and confirm nested lines and sell totals on the bid. See Work Assemblies.
- Connected purchase orders: Open Assignar Connect and add Create Purchase Order to a workflow that already watches a quote, material request, or delivery. Confirm the PO in Purchase Orders. See Assignar Connect and Purchase Orders.
- Bids and resources: Open a long Quote / bid and collapse sections you are not editing. On an order or scheduler resource list, confirm repeated resources group into expandable sections.
- Exports and merge templates: Re-run a familiar export and confirm a processing issue no longer stops the download. Open Forms → Templates → Uploaded merge template and preview or export. See Uploaded Merge Templates.
- Competencies: Open Compliance → Competencies, or a worker → Roles & Competencies, and confirm verification status is clear. See Competencies.
- SubHub: From the principal-contractor workspace, invite or review a subcontractor organisation and confirm the project engagement path. From the subcontractor workspace, open Clients & Projects. See Subcontractors.
Permissions: Invoice print templates use Create and edit invoice print templates. Scheduling uses orders.view (see Setup & Access). Connected purchase-order creation uses the same purchase orders.create access as the in-app action, as the signed-in (acting) user — not a standalone API key. Pay Rates, Quotes, Forms, Competencies, and Connect use the same access already required for those modules.

Release details
Rollout: Updates in this note are rolling out on the standard Assignar Pay release cadence across accounts. Payroll calculation updates, invoice timesheet and equipment evidence blocks, schedule-from-bid in the scheduler, project external IDs on calendar cards, nested quote assemblies, connected purchase-order creation, bid collapse, grouped resources, export recovery, merge-template improvements, competency visibility, SubHub workflow expansion, and the security and reliability updates listed here apply on the normal release path.
Payroll: Timesheets already processed keep their stored pay until they are re-processed. A code deploy alone does not rewrite calculated pay. Sequence re-processing against your payroll cutoff so a corrected period does not disagree with one already exported.
Invoice evidence: Evidence: Timesheets and Evidence: Equipment appear on invoice print templates (one block of each kind per template). They are not available on the separate periods / progress-invoice PDF path.
Connected purchase orders: Create Purchase Order in Assignar Connect requires the Connect acting-user path and purchase orders.create. Currency defaults to the account region.
SubHub: Organisation, invitation, and project workflows continue to expand on the path already in use.
