Assignar Connect

Automate the work between Assignar Pay and the other systems you use: build workflows, approve what they ask, and track your runs

Assignar Connect builds workflows: when something happens in one system, do something in another. When a site safety checklist is submitted, email it to the safety manager. When an invoice goes overdue, text the account manager. When a docket is signed, create the cost code and post a message to the finance channel.

You build them visually, with no code, from ready-made steps for Assignar Pay, Assignar Ops and hundreds of other systems.

Connect is switched on for every organization. If Connect is not in the sidebar, or opening a Connect page shows Permission Denied, you do not hold the permission it needs: see Who can use Connect. If Assignar has turned the module off for your organization, contact your Assignar account manager.

Who can use Connect

Two separate permissions decide what you see, and Owners, Admins and Managers hold both by default:

  • Building workflows gives you the builder, workspaces and Usage & billing.
  • Deciding approvals gives you the Approvals list, where you approve or reject what workflows ask.

Someone who can decide approvals but not build lands straight on Approvals. The Builder button is greyed out, and pointing at it shows "You don't have access to the automation builder. Ask an owner or admin for Connect access if you need it." See Roles and permissions.

Find your way around

Select Connect in the sidebar. A toolbar runs across the top of every Connect page:

Connect page toolbar with My workspace, Runs as Alex Morgan, Workspaces, Move, Builder, Approvals with a badge of 2, and Usage & billing

  • The workspace you are in (My workspace until you create or join a shared one), and Runs as, the person whose permissions its workflows use.
  • Workspaces and Move, to share workflows with colleagues. See Share workflows.
  • Builder, where you build and publish workflows.
  • Approvals, with a badge counting the requests waiting on you.
  • Usage & billing, your run balance.

Your organization's Connect data is separate from every other organization's. Inside your organization, your own workspace is private to you.
