What's new

Pay Rate Filters

Finding the right pay rate in a long list is a time sink -- and getting it wrong costs money. Pay Rate Filters let payroll administrators narrow down rates quickly so the right rate is applied every time.

What it does:

  • Adds filtering on the Pay Rates list to cut through large rate libraries
  • Helps locate rates by the attributes that matter most to your team
  • Reduces the risk of selecting the wrong rate during payroll setup or processing

Where you'll find it: Open Pay Rates and use the new filter controls at the top of the list.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators managing hundreds of rates across EBAs, awards, and projects. Finance teams who need confidence that the rate applied is the rate intended.

Worker Tags

Organise your workforce the way your business actually operates. Worker Tags give you a flexible way to group workers for reporting and rule targeting without forcing rigid hierarchies.

What it does:

  • Lets admins apply tags to workers for grouping and segmentation
  • Enables cleaner reporting filtered by tag
  • Supports more precise rule targeting down the track

Where you'll find it: In the Workers module, apply tags directly on worker records.

Who benefits: Payroll admins and operations leads who group workers by crew, certification, shift type, or any business-specific dimension. Reporting users who want to slice data by meaningful groups.

Labor Burden Setting

Your true cost of labor is more than just the hourly rate. The new Labor Burden Setting brings on-costs into the picture, so estimating, job costing, and reporting reflect what labor really costs you.

What it does:

  • Adds a Labor Burden configuration at the account level for payroll
  • Feeds into true labor cost calculations used across payroll and reporting
  • Gives finance and PMs a clearer view of loaded labor rates for planning

Where you'll find it: In the payroll settings area under the new Labor Burden option.

Who benefits: Estimators and project managers pricing jobs against loaded rates. Finance teams reconciling actual vs. planned labor cost. Owners who want an honest margin view.

Edit Hours for Leave Timesheets

Leave entries don't always land perfectly the first time. You can now edit hours directly on leave timesheets so corrections don't require a full rework.

What it does:

  • Enables editing of hours on leave-type timesheet records
  • Keeps leave adjustments inside the normal timesheet workflow
  • Prevents pay run blockers from small data errors

Where you'll find it: Open a leave timesheet and edit the hours field as you would on any other timesheet.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators who catch leave entry errors late in the cycle. Supervisors who need to amend a worker's leave without creating a fresh record.

Payroll Rules Engine upgrades

The rules engine got four meaningful upgrades this week so pay runs land right the first time:

  • Shift Rules – Day of Week: Apply different shift rules for weekdays versus weekends, matching the reality of EBA and award interpretations.
  • Shift Rules – Same Day Timesheets: Consistent rule application across split shifts on the same day, so late-afternoon returns don't break overtime math.
  • OT Rule – Highest Daily OT: Automatically applies the most beneficial daily overtime rule, so workers always get the right outcome without manual review.
  • Allowances OT Configurator: Tailor how allowances behave when overtime kicks in, with far less manual setup and fewer exceptions to chase.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators running complex EBAs and multi-award workforces. Finance and compliance teams who need confidence that interpretations match the agreement, every cycle.

Improvements

Small navigation fixes compound into big time savings over a week.

  • Breadcrumbs + Back to Quotes: Fewer clicks moving between quotes and related pages, less context switching.
  • Pay Rate Breadcrumb Fix: Breadcrumb links on Pay Rate pages now take you exactly where you expect.
  • Projects & Clients Follow-up: Cleaner setup flows and more consistent behaviour across Projects and Clients pages.

Performance, Reliability & Security

  • View Timeout Fixes: Snappier views and fewer timeouts under heavy data loads, especially on views that aggregate large result sets.
  • Submissions Stability: More reliable data saves behind form and timesheet submissions, supporting smoother processing end-to-end.
  • Linting Clean-up: Code quality improvements that reduce the risk of bugs slipping through and keep the platform maintainable and secure.

Why it matters for construction teams

For payroll administrators: Pay Rate Filters and Worker Tags take the grind out of finding the right rate and grouping the right workers -- especially at scale. Edit Hours on Leave Timesheets means one small mistake no longer stalls a pay run. The Rules Engine upgrades (day-of-week shifts, same-day split shifts, highest daily OT, allowances OT) automate interpretation that used to live in spreadsheets.

For finance teams and estimators: The Labor Burden setting brings on-costs into your loaded labor rate so margin, job costing, and forecasting reflect reality -- not just base rates. Cleaner navigation and fewer timeouts mean reports and Pay Rate reviews don't eat your morning.

For project managers and supervisors: Consistent breadcrumbs and navigation across Quotes, Pay Rates, Projects, and Clients mean less backtracking. Worker Tags give you a flexible way to segment crews without waiting on a schema change.

For site teams: More reliable submissions mean forms and timesheets land correctly the first time -- less rework for the office, less chasing for the field.

Real-world impact:

  • Fewer payroll errors: Pay Rate Filters get the right rate in front of you fast
  • Truer cost visibility: Labor Burden lifts job costing from "hourly" to "fully loaded"
  • Less manual interpretation: Rules Engine upgrades apply the right day, shift, and OT logic automatically
  • Faster leave corrections: Edit Hours on Leave Timesheets fixes errors without a rebuild
  • Smoother navigation: Breadcrumb and flow fixes cut clicks across common tasks
  • Fewer timeouts: Heavy views load reliably even under load
