What's new

📏 Minimum Engagement Rules

Automatically honour minimum paid hours on timesheets to meet project and award requirements—no more manually adjusting short shifts to hit engagement thresholds.

What it does:

  • Enforces minimum engagement hours defined in your pay rate documents or EBA rules
  • Automatically tops up short shifts to the required minimum during payroll processing
  • Prevents underpayment claims caused by shifts that fall below engagement thresholds
  • Supports project-specific and award-specific minimum engagement configurations
  • Reduces manual timesheet adjustments for payroll administrators

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. Minimum engagement rules are configured per document within the review panel. Rules are applied automatically during payroll processing.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators managing EBA or award compliance no longer need to manually check and adjust short shifts. Workers receive correct minimum engagement pay automatically. Finance teams see fewer post-run corrections.

🛏️ Shift Spacing Rules

Enforce required rest periods between shifts to support fatigue management compliance and award obligations.

What it does:

  • Detects when the gap between consecutive shifts is shorter than the configured rest period
  • Triggers penalty rates or flags non-compliant shifts based on your configuration
  • Supports different rest period requirements by award, role, or project
  • Helps meet fatigue management and OH&S compliance obligations
  • Reduces the risk of underpayment for workers entitled to rest-period penalties

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. Shift spacing rules are configured per document within the review panel. Non-compliant shifts are flagged during payroll processing.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators managing fatigue-related award clauses gain automated compliance. Safety managers get visibility into rest period breaches. Workers receive correct penalty entitlements without raising disputes.

🔁 Consecutive Shift Rules

Detect and manage back-to-back shifts automatically, applying the correct rates and penalties when workers exceed consecutive shift thresholds.

What it does:

  • Tracks consecutive shifts per worker across pay periods
  • Applies escalating penalty rates when consecutive shift thresholds are met
  • Supports award-specific consecutive shift definitions and rate schedules
  • Eliminates manual counting and rate lookups for extended work patterns
  • Provides clear visibility into which workers have triggered consecutive shift penalties

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. Consecutive shift rules are configured per document within the review panel. Penalties are calculated automatically during payroll processing.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators processing rosters with extended work patterns save hours of manual rate calculation. Workers on consecutive shifts receive correct penalty rates. Compliance teams gain confidence that award obligations are met.

📈 Pay Rates Enhancements

More flexible and accurate rate handling for complex crews and roles, improving the reliability of payroll calculations across diverse workforce configurations.

What it does:

  • Improves rate resolution for workers with multiple roles or classifications
  • Handles edge cases in rate lookups more gracefully
  • Reduces miscalculated pay caused by ambiguous rate configurations
  • Supports more complex crew and role structures without manual overrides

Where you'll find it: Pay rate improvements apply automatically during payroll processing. No additional configuration is required.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators managing diverse crews with multiple classifications see fewer rate errors. Workers receive accurate pay without manual corrections.

🧰 Activity-Based Allowances and Custom Rules

Pay extras precisely based on tasks performed. Tie allowances to specific activities so workers receive the correct entitlements for the work they actually do.

What it does:

  • Links allowance rules to specific activities or task types
  • Automatically applies allowances when matching activities appear on timesheets
  • Supports custom rule logic for complex allowance scenarios
  • Prevents allowances from applying to activities they don't cover
  • Reduces overpayment and underpayment on activity-specific entitlements

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. Allowance rules (including activity-based rules) are configured per document within the review panel. Allowances are applied automatically during payroll processing.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators managing task-specific allowances (e.g., height work, confined spaces, travel) gain precise control. Workers receive correct allowances based on actual tasks performed. Finance teams see fewer allowance discrepancies in pay runs.

🧮 Allowance Quantities

Capture units—kilometres, meals, loads, overnight stays—against allowances for accurate, auditable payouts that reflect actual quantities.

What it does:

  • Adds quantity tracking to allowance calculations
  • Supports unit types such as km, meals, loads, and custom units
  • Calculates allowance amounts based on quantity multiplied by the allowance rate
  • Provides a clear audit trail of quantities claimed per allowance per worker
  • Eliminates manual quantity-to-dollar calculations in spreadsheets

Where you'll find it: Allowance quantities appear in the weekly summary view when reviewing pay rates. Configure quantity-based allowances in Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab, within the allowance rule configuration.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators processing travel, meal, or equipment allowances save time with automated quantity-based calculations. Workers see transparent, quantity-backed allowance amounts on their pay. Finance teams gain auditable records of what was claimed and paid.

📒 Non-Payable Activities for Processing

Track and process activities without generating pay, improving reporting clarity and keeping non-billable time visible without distorting payroll.

What it does:

  • Allows activities to be marked as non-payable during payroll processing
  • Keeps non-payable activities visible in reports without generating pay line items
  • Separates productive and non-productive time for clearer workforce analytics
  • Prevents accidental payment for activities that should be tracked but not paid
  • Supports project costing accuracy by distinguishing paid and unpaid activities

Where you'll find it: Non-payable activity configuration is available within the pay rate document review flow. Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. Activities flagged as non-payable appear in the weekly summary calendar and table views but are excluded from pay calculations.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators gain a clean separation between paid and tracked-only activities. Project managers see complete activity data without non-payable items inflating labour costs. Finance teams produce more accurate cost reports.

✨ Fixed Allowances UI Polish

Cleaner setup screens for fixed allowances mean fewer clicks and fewer mistakes when configuring recurring allowance entitlements.

What it does:

  • Streamlines the fixed allowance configuration interface
  • Reduces the number of steps required to set up or modify fixed allowances
  • Improves visual clarity of allowance settings and their current values
  • Lowers the risk of misconfiguration caused by a cluttered interface

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Pay Rates -> open a pay rate document -> Review tab. The updated allowance configuration interface is visible within the review panel.

Who benefits: Payroll administrators setting up or adjusting fixed allowances complete the task faster with fewer errors.

📄 Custom File Names for Exports

Name your downloads from the rich text editor so exported files are easy to find and share with the right context.

What it does:

  • Allows custom file names when exporting content from the rich text editor
  • Replaces generic file names with meaningful, user-defined names
  • Makes exported files easier to organise and locate in your file system
  • Improves document sharing by providing clear file identification

Where you'll find it: When exporting from the rich text editor, a file name input appears before download. Enter your preferred name and export.

Who benefits: Anyone exporting documents, reports, or notes from the editor saves time organising files. Teams sharing exported content with clients or stakeholders present professionally named documents.

🧾 Export PO Line Items to CSV and PDF

One-click export of purchase order line item details for finance reviews, client submissions, or record-keeping.

What it does:

  • Exports purchase order line items to CSV and PDF formats
  • Includes all relevant line item details: description, quantity, rate, and totals
  • Supports bulk export for finance reconciliation and audit preparation
  • Provides client-ready PDF exports for purchase order documentation

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Purchase Orders -> open a PO. Use the Export CSV button to download line items as a spreadsheet, or use the Print button to print or save as PDF via your browser's print dialog.

Who benefits: Finance teams reconciling purchase orders against invoices export data directly without manual transcription. Project managers share PO details with clients in a clean PDF format. Procurement teams maintain organised records for audits.

🔂 Duplicate Form Submission

Re-run recurring form submissions in seconds by duplicating a previous submission as a starting point—no need to fill in the same data from scratch.

What it does:

  • Duplicates all field values from a previous form submission into a new submission
  • Saves significant time for recurring inspections, daily reports, and checklists
  • Allows editing of duplicated values before submitting, so only changes need attention
  • Reduces data entry errors by starting from known-good previous entries

Where you'll find it: Navigate to Forms -> open a form -> Submissions tab. On any existing submission, click the Duplicate action. The duplicated submission is created with all field values copied, ready for review and editing.

Who benefits: Site supervisors submitting daily diaries, safety checklists, or recurring inspections save minutes per submission. Foremen completing repetitive reports reduce errors by starting from yesterday's data. Any team member running recurring forms benefits from faster, more consistent submissions.

🚀 Faster Builders and Previews

Optimised page loading and preview rendering so builders and form previews feel snappier across the platform.

What it does:

  • Reduces load times for builder interfaces and preview screens

Who benefits: All users working with builders and previews experience a faster, more responsive interface.

🧹 Cleaner Editor

Removed extra settings dialogs from the editor to reduce distractions and streamline the content editing experience.

What it does:

  • Removes unnecessary settings dialogs from the editor interface
  • Reduces visual clutter and decision fatigue when editing content
  • Focuses the editing experience on content creation rather than configuration

Where you'll find it: The cleaner editor is active automatically in all editor interfaces.

Who benefits: Anyone creating or editing content in the platform works with a cleaner, less distracting interface.

Why it matters for construction teams

For payroll administrators: This is the biggest payroll automation release yet. Minimum engagement rules, shift spacing rules, consecutive shift rules, and activity-based allowances automate four of the most time-consuming manual payroll tasks. Allowance quantities eliminate spreadsheet-based calculations for travel, meals, and equipment. Non-payable activity tracking keeps your reports complete without distorting pay runs. Together, these features can save hours per pay cycle and dramatically reduce correction work.

For site supervisors and foremen: Duplicate Form Submission turns daily diaries and recurring inspections into a 30-second task instead of a 10-minute one. Faster builders and previews mean less waiting when filling out forms on site. The cleaner editor removes distractions so you can focus on capturing the information that matters.

For project managers: Non-payable activity tracking gives you complete visibility into how time is spent on your projects—including activities that are tracked but not paid. Activity-based allowances ensure that task-specific entitlements like height work or confined space allowances are applied accurately, improving job cost accuracy.

For finance and accounting teams: PO line item export to CSV and PDF streamlines reconciliation and audit preparation. Allowance quantities provide auditable records of what was claimed and paid. Pay category accuracy fixes and OT2 rate corrections ensure your pay runs are right the first time, reducing post-run adjustments.

Real-world impact:

  • Hours saved per pay cycle: Minimum engagement, shift spacing, consecutive shifts, and activity-based allowances automate previously manual calculations
  • Fewer pay run corrections: OT2 rate fix, pay category accuracy, and improved rate handling reduce errors at source
  • Faster recurring forms: Duplicate Submission cuts repetitive form entry from minutes to seconds
  • Cleaner financial exports: PO line item CSV/PDF exports eliminate manual data extraction
