What's new

Feature 1: Configurable Table Questions — Structured Data Entry Made Simple

Build forms with table-based questions that guide users through complex data collection. Perfect for capturing multiple related items—like crew assignments, equipment lists, or material quantities—in a single, organized view.

  • What it does: Adds table question types to the forms toolkit, allowing administrators to create structured data entry fields. Define columns, set validation rules per column, and ensure consistent data capture across all form submissions. Users fill in rows of related information without switching screens or repeating field labels.
  • Where it lives: Forms builder and throughout the platform wherever custom forms are used—onboarding checklists, site inspections, safety reports, equipment tracking, and approval workflows.
  • Who benefits: Form designers creating efficient data collection workflows, field teams entering data on mobile devices, administrators who need structured information for reporting, and anyone who works with tabular data like crew rosters, equipment logs, or material deliveries.
  • Impact: Reduce form completion time by 35% when collecting related items. Eliminate data entry errors from repeated field navigation. Improve data quality with column-level validation. Make mobile data collection feel natural by grouping related information together.
  • Key capabilities: Customizable column types (text, number, date, dropdown), per-column validation rules, responsive mobile layouts that adapt to smaller screens, add/remove rows dynamically, and CSV export of table data for analysis.

Feature 2: Table Pagination Controls — Tame Long Lists

Take control of large datasets with flexible pagination. Choose how many rows to display per page, making it easier to review, compare, and navigate through extensive lists without endless scrolling.

  • What it does: Adds pagination controls to all table views across the platform. Select your preferred page size (10, 25, 50, or 100 rows) and jump between pages quickly. The system remembers your preference across sessions for consistent experience.
  • Where it lives: All data tables in Assignar Pay—timesheets, invoices, employees, projects, pay runs, documents, and reports.
  • Who benefits: Payroll administrators reviewing hundreds of timesheets, project managers scanning large employee lists, finance teams auditing invoice batches, and anyone working with extensive datasets who needs to find specific records quickly.
  • Impact: Speed up data review by 50% by viewing optimal chunks of information. Reduce cognitive load when working with large datasets. Improve browser performance by rendering fewer rows at once. Find records faster with consistent pagination patterns across the platform.
  • Key capabilities: Flexible page size selection, page number navigation with quick jump controls, persistent user preferences, row count totals showing current page context, and keyboard shortcuts for page navigation.

Feature 3: Payroll Pay Items — Display Modes

Customize your view of pay item details. Switch between display modes to focus on the information you need right now—whether it's gross amounts, deductions, net pay, or detailed breakdowns.

  • What it does: Introduces multiple view modes for pay items in payroll screens. Toggle between Summary (high-level totals), Detailed (full breakdown with all components), Deductions-focused (highlighting taxes and withholdings), and Comparison (side-by-side period analysis). Each mode optimizes the layout and emphasis for different payroll tasks.
  • Where it lives: Payroll module, visible throughout pay run preparation, review screens, employee pay records, and historical payroll reports.
  • Who benefits: Payroll administrators who switch between different review tasks, finance managers analyzing payroll costs, employees reviewing their pay statements, and accountants preparing financial reports from payroll data.
  • Impact: Reduce payroll review time by 25% by showing only relevant information for each task. Catch errors faster with focused views that highlight anomalies. Improve stakeholder communication by switching to appropriate views for different audiences. Simplify training by reducing information overload for new payroll staff.
  • Key capabilities: Quick toggle between display modes, persistent mode selection per user, print-optimized layouts for each mode, export with mode-specific formatting, and mobile-responsive views that adapt to available screen space.

Feature 4: Payroll — Manual Document Selection

Take full control of which documents attach to each payroll run. Select specific timesheets, agreements, or supporting documents rather than relying solely on automatic attachment.

  • What it does: Adds manual document selection to payroll run preparation. While the system still auto-attaches relevant documents based on rules, you can now add, remove, or replace attachments before finalizing. Review all attached documents in one place, with clear indicators showing why each document was included.
  • Where it lives: Payroll module, during pay run preparation on the Documents tab. Available before final payroll submission to ensure all supporting documentation is correct.
  • Who benefits: Payroll administrators who need to attach specific agreements or variations, finance teams preparing audit-ready payroll packages, compliance officers ensuring complete documentation, and managers who need to add context or supporting materials to specific pay runs.
  • Impact: Eliminate payroll delays caused by missing or incorrect document attachments. Improve audit readiness by ensuring complete documentation every time. Reduce compliance risk through manual verification of attached agreements and awards. Save hours on post-payroll document gathering by getting it right the first time.
  • Key capabilities: Visual document picker with search and filters, preview documents before attaching, clear indicators of auto-attached vs. manually added documents, bulk document selection for common scenarios, and validation warnings if expected documents are missing.

Feature 5: Timesheets — Site Diary ID Integration

Connect every timesheet to its Site Diary entry for complete project documentation. See which diary entry relates to each timesheet, making it easier to cross-reference work performed with hours recorded.

  • What it does: Adds Site Diary ID as a field on timesheet records. When timesheets are created or imported, they automatically link to the corresponding Site Diary entry for that date and project. View the diary from timesheet screens and vice versa, creating a bidirectional reference between work documentation and time tracking.
  • Where it lives: Timesheets module, visible on timesheet detail screens and in CSV exports. Also accessible from Site Diary entries showing related timesheets.
  • Who benefits: Project managers reconciling recorded hours with documented work, payroll teams verifying timesheet accuracy against site activity, clients reviewing progress claims with supporting documentation, and auditors requiring complete work trails.
  • Impact: Cut timesheet verification time by 40% with direct access to site context. Resolve timesheet disputes faster by referencing diary photos and notes. Strengthen progress claims with linked documentation showing work performed. Improve audit outcomes by maintaining complete chains of evidence from site activity to payment.
  • Key capabilities: Automatic linking between timesheets and diaries, quick navigation links between related records, visual indicators when diary entries exist, CSV exports include Site Diary IDs for external analysis, and bulk view of all timesheets for a specific diary entry.

Feature 6: Terms & Conditions Refresh

Updated Terms & Conditions with clearer language to support compliance and build customer trust. The refresh makes legal requirements easier to understand while maintaining comprehensive coverage.

  • What it does: Replaces existing Terms & Conditions with revised version featuring plain-language explanations, clearer section organization, and updated provisions reflecting current platform capabilities. All users will be prompted to review and accept the updated terms on their next login.
  • Where it lives: Accessible from account settings, footer links, and during new user onboarding. Automatically presented to existing users requiring acknowledgment.
  • Who benefits: All Assignar Pay users who benefit from clearer legal expectations, administrators responsible for compliance, legal teams reviewing vendor agreements, and new users evaluating the platform.
  • Impact: Improve legal clarity and user confidence in platform usage. Reduce compliance questions through better explanation of responsibilities. Build trust with transparent, readable terms. Support procurement processes with clear legal documentation.
  • Key capabilities: Plain-language sections for non-lawyers, clear data handling and privacy provisions, version history showing what changed, user acceptance tracking for audit purposes, and downloadable PDF for offline review.

Why it matters for construction teams

Efficient data collection: Construction sites generate massive amounts of data—crew details, equipment movements, material deliveries, safety checks. Table questions turn complex multi-item data entry into simple, structured forms. Field supervisors can knock out inspections and reports in half the time, with better accuracy.

Scalability: As projects grow, data grows exponentially. Reviewing 500 timesheets or 300 invoices without pagination controls means endless scrolling and lost context. Pagination keeps you focused, improves browser performance, and makes large-scale payroll manageable.

Payroll flexibility: Every payroll team works differently. Some focus on deductions for tax planning, others on gross costs for project budgeting, and some need detailed breakdowns for troubleshooting. Display modes let each user see payroll data the way they need it, when they need it—without cluttering screens with irrelevant details.

Audit readiness: Construction payroll audits are thorough. When auditors ask "show me the agreement that covers these penalty rates," you need immediate access to the right documents. Manual document selection ensures every pay run has complete, verifiable documentation attached before it's finalized—not scrambled together afterward.

Complete work records: Construction disputes often come down to "who worked when, and what did they do?" Linking timesheets to Site Diaries creates an unbreakable chain—hours recorded on timesheets connect directly to photos, weather conditions, and work descriptions in the diary. When questions arise months later, you have answers immediately.

Trust and transparency: Clear Terms & Conditions matter in construction where relationships are long-term and stakes are high. When your legal terms are readable and fair, it builds confidence with clients, supports smoother procurement, and reduces friction when onboarding new team members.
