What's new
Feature 1: Public API — Connect Your Tools
Integrate Assignar Pay with your existing systems using secure API keys. Access pay rates and compensation data programmatically to keep your tech stack in sync.
- What it does: Provides secure, authenticated API access to Assignar Pay data, starting with Pay Rates. Generate API keys with specific permissions to read and sync compensation data with your external tools, ERPs, or custom integrations.
- Where it lives: Settings → API Access (for key management). API documentation available in the developer portal.
- Who benefits: IT teams, system integrators, and organizations running multi-platform operations who need to sync payroll data between Assignar Pay and other business systems.
- Impact: Eliminate manual data entry between systems, reduce sync errors, and build custom integrations tailored to your workflows. Automate data flows that previously required CSV exports and imports.
- Key capabilities: Secure token-based authentication, granular permission scoping, rate limiting for stability, and comprehensive API documentation for developers.
Feature 2: Global Chat — Collaborate in Context
Real-time chat functionality lets teams discuss data, ask questions, and collaborate without leaving Assignar Pay. Tag teammates, share insights, and keep conversations connected to the work.
- What it does: Adds a persistent chat interface accessible throughout Assignar Pay, allowing team members to communicate in real-time about projects, timesheets, invoices, or any other data they're viewing.
- Where it lives: Global chat accessible from any screen via the chat icon in the main navigation.
- Who benefits: All team members—project managers coordinating with field teams, payroll administrators clarifying timesheet issues, finance teams discussing invoice approvals, and executives reviewing dashboards.
- Impact: Faster decision-making with context-aware conversations, reduced email chains, and better alignment between office and field teams. Keep discussions tied to specific projects or data views.
Feature 3: Chart Drawing Tools — Annotate Your Insights
Mark up charts and graphs directly in Assignar Pay with drawing and annotation tools. Highlight trends, circle outliers, or add notes during reviews and presentations.
- What it does: Provides drawing and annotation capabilities on charts and visualizations throughout the platform. Add arrows, circles, text notes, and freehand markings to emphasize key data points during analysis or team reviews.
- Where it lives: Available on all chart and graph visualizations across Analytics, Dashboards, and Reporting modules.
- Who benefits: Project managers presenting cost trends, finance teams reviewing budget variances, executives analyzing performance metrics, and anyone sharing data-driven insights with stakeholders.
- Impact: Clearer communication during data reviews, better stakeholder alignment, and more effective presentations. Save annotated charts to document decisions or flag issues.
Feature 4: Enhanced Weekly Payroll Calculations
More accurate weekly payroll calculations reduce manual adjustments and ensure employees are paid correctly the first time.
- What it does: Improves the calculation engine for weekly payroll runs, handling edge cases more accurately—including partial weeks, overtime calculations, and leave periods that span multiple weeks.
- Where it lives: Payroll module, automatic calculation improvements during payroll processing.
- Who benefits: Payroll administrators, finance teams, and employees who rely on accurate weekly pay calculations.
- Impact: Fewer payroll corrections, less time spent reviewing and adjusting calculations, and improved employee confidence in pay accuracy. Reduces payroll cycle time and administrative overhead.
Feature 5: Saved Views for Payroll Tables
Save your favorite filters, column configurations, and sorting preferences in payroll tables. Jump straight to the data you need without reconfiguring views every time.
- What it does: Allows users to create, name, and save custom table configurations in payroll screens. Save filter combinations, visible columns, sort orders, and groupings as named views you can switch between instantly.
- Where it lives: Payroll module, all table-based screens (Timesheets, Approvals, Pay Runs, etc.).
- Who benefits: Payroll administrators who regularly need different views of the same data—e.g., "Pending Approvals," "Overtime Review," "By Project," or "By Cost Center."
- Impact: Get to answers faster by eliminating repetitive table setup. Reduce cognitive load and improve consistency when multiple team members use standardized views. Share views across teams for better alignment.
Feature 6: Smarter Transaction Imports
Importing financial transactions now automatically updates related order statuses, keeping your operations data in sync without manual follow-up.
- What it does: Enhances the transaction import process to intelligently update order and invoice statuses based on the imported financial data. When you import payment or transaction records, the system automatically marks associated orders as paid, partially paid, or updates their financial status.
- Where it lives: Financials module, Transaction Import functionality.
- Who benefits: Finance teams managing accounts payable/receivable, project managers tracking order completion, and anyone reconciling financial transactions with operational data.
- Impact: Eliminate manual status updates after importing transactions, reduce data inconsistencies, and maintain accurate financial views across projects. Saves time during month-end close and reconciliation.
Why it matters for construction teams
- System integration: The Public API means Assignar Pay can fit into your existing tech ecosystem. Sync pay rates with your ERP, feed data into custom dashboards, or automate reporting—no more manual CSV shuffling between systems.
- Real-time collaboration: Construction teams are distributed across offices and sites. Global chat keeps everyone connected to the same data, reducing delays from email chains or phone tag when quick decisions are needed.
- Visual communication: Chart drawing tools help bridge the gap between numbers and action. Circle cost overruns on a chart during a project review, annotate labor trends for your superintendent, or highlight budget variances in stakeholder presentations.
- Payroll accuracy: Weekly payroll improvements mean fewer corrections after the fact. When your team works rotating schedules, overtime, or mixed leave periods, accurate calculations prevent pay disputes and reduce administrative burden.
- Personalized workflows: Saved views let each team member work the way they need to. Your payroll lead can have views for approvals, exceptions, and final review—all one click away. Share views across teams to standardize reporting and analysis.
- Operational sync: Smart imports connect your financial data with project operations. When a client payment comes in, the system knows which orders it affects. When you import invoice data, project statuses update automatically—keeping everyone on the same page.
